Pretty Dang Funny is, well, pretty dang funny.
Well "half" is a notation typical of imperial measurement minded thinking. How would one convert to metric? No clue, metric makes my head hurt.
I've never found metric vs imperial confusing, probably because my parents use Imperial units, while I've always been taught to use metric at school. So my height is 5ft 10ins, and the city is 7 miles away, but the distance to the postbox is about 200m. And the parcel I just sent of was 1.4kg, but I weigh 18st 0lbs.
They have tried to teach us metric since back in grade school here, but I just can't relate to it. How big is a centimeter? I have no clue. it could be a quarter inch, half inch or three inches for all I know. Yes I know I can use a converter online to find out exactly how big, but I mean guesstimating it wise. I can guesstimate how big an inch is and be close, whereas with metric, I am not even in the right ball park.
Also, as an approximation, there are 2/5ths of an inch to a centimetre. The exact measurement is 2.54cm = 1in. [/UselessFactoid]
No, I know, but did you get what I meant? Ask me how long a pencil is and I can almost tell you within a eighth of an inch how long it is. Ask me how long it is in metric and I'm lost. 30cm? 50cm? I haven't a clue.
I see you are back now, fun time I imagine? ...and you are here which means the world didn't grind to a halt like all the nuts were predicting. About 30 years ago there was a "stellar alignment" that they said all the planets might just rush into the sun. I might have gotten a little sun burned that year but that's a normal thing.
Sorry for going random.
So... this was done in PDF? That's Pretty Dang Funny! I didn't know people actually used that format...
